Same programme, more flexibility and a one-year format!
The next TRAIN Academy cohort will begin in January 2027:
With its part-time continuing education programme “Translational Research & Medicine: From Idea to Product”, the TRAIN Academy supports scientists, medical professionals and specialists from industry, the healthcare and government agencies in understanding and actively shaping biomedical translation.
Which steps are needed to turn a scientific discovery into a product for medical use? What regulatory, clinical, quality-related and economic aspects must be taken into account? And how can projects be successfully advanced along the translational development pathway?
The TRAIN Academy provides this knowledge in a practical, application-oriented and interdisciplinary manner. The focus is on biomedical product development across different product groups – from small molecules and biologicals to medical devices, antibodies, vaccines and RNA-based therapeutics. Participants choose their individual learning path according to their needs and interests.
New in 2027:
The TRAIN Academy offers two flexible participation options, allowing the continuing education programme to be tailored to individual needs and time constraints:
- TRAIN Academy Flex Pass 2027 – all you can learn
The Flex Pass provides flexible access to the full TRAIN Academy programme from January to December 2027. Participants select modules that align with their personal translational development path and individual interest. This format is particularly suitable for people with a broad interest in translation and a desire to gain broad additional expertise.
Costs: For participants from TRAIN partner institutions, the participation fee is €1,200; participants from other public institutions pay €2,400 and industry participants pay €4,800.
Registration: Registration for the TRAIN Academy Flex Pass 2027 is now open until 15 December 2026. To register, please submit a signed declaration of cost coverage from your employer or from yourself, along with a billing address and send both to academy@translationsallianz.de
- Single modules – Select what fits your needs and interests
Individual complete modules can be booked separately. This option is particularly aimed at participants who wish to focus on specific subject areas or who have limited time available.

The TRAIN Academy 2027 cohort is designed as a one-year part-time programme, comprises up to approximately 200 programme hours, with participants choosing their individual scope of participation and takes place alongside participants’ regular professional activities. Courses are offered weekly, typically on Tuesdays and Thursdays and will be online or in person in Hannover or Braunschweig.
