We are delighted that Dr. Meina Neumann-Schaal has been appointed an Extraordinary Professor at the Technical University of Braunschweig!
Dr. Neumann-Schaal has been a leading researcher at the Leibniz Institute DSMZ-German Collection of Microorganisms and Cell Cultures GmbH in Braunschweig since 2017 and has headed the Metabolomics & Services department since 2020. Her research covers fundamental metabolic processes, host-pathogen interactions, and biotechnological applications.
As the TRAIN Omics site spokesperson for Braunschweig, she strengthens important collaborations within the TRAIN network and connects omics platforms, research infrastructures, and scientists in the field of translational health research in the Hannover-Braunschweig-Göttingen region.
Meina Neumann-Schaal studied biotechnology at the Technical University of Braunschweig and earned her doctorate in biochemistry. Professor Neumann-Schaal’s research focuses on microbial metabolomics.
As co-founder of the German Society for Metabolomics Research and founding member of the BRICS Women Network at the Braunschweig Center for Systems Biology (BRICS), she is actively involved in networking, promoting, and further developing researchers in omics technologies.
