At the official kickoff of the Startup Factory GOe FUTURE on 4 September 2026 at Forum Wissen in Gรถttingen, it became clear just how much potential lies within Lower Saxonyโs life science ecosystem. Representatives from academia, business, politics and the startup scene came together to celebrate the launch of one of the ten Startup Factories selected nationwide via exist – from science to business.
Among the key speakers at the event were Johannes Steiniger, Parliamentary State Secretary at Bundesministerium fรผr Wirtschaft und Energie, Prof. Dr. Joachim Schachtner from the Niedersรคchsisches Ministerium fรผr Wissenschaft und Kultur and Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Zeisberg, CEO of GOe FUTURE Management GmbH.
Further key insights were provided by Prof. Dr. Andreas Zaby (SPRIND – Bundesagentur fรผr Sprunginnovationen), Dr. Ralf Amann (Prime Vector Technologies), Dr. Dominik Schumacher (Tubulis GmbH), Dr. Michael Grosse (Sartorius AG), Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Brรผck (Universitรคtsmedizin Gรถttingen), and Dr. Georg Schรผtte (VolkswagenStiftung). Their contributions impressively demonstrated that successful spin-offs in the life sciences require strong partnerships, long-term support and a well-connected innovation ecosystem.
From our TRAIN team, Dr. Sara Haag and Angela Bortenreuter were able to attend the event that day. For us, the event sent a strong signal regarding the further development of translation, technology transfer and entrepreneurship in Lower Saxony.
